Panasonic Lumix,DMC-FZ8K Digital Camera

Strengths: Image stabilzation, outstanding picture quality, easy to navigate and use menus, 12X zoom, superb Leica lens, clear, bright 2.5" LCD display, long-life battery.

Weakness: Non-auto opening flash

I purchased the Panansonic DMC-FZ8K to replace a 4 megapixel Fuji camera and as is this is my first Panasonic camera, I am definitely impressed. The picture quality is outstanding; clear, crisp, bright colors. The Leica lens says high-quality all the way. In the AF mode, the auto-focus works extremely well as does the macro mode for close-ups. The 12X zoom and image stabilization features also...

This camera Rock

Strengths: Powerful optical zoom lens. Large 8GB SDHC card capacity. Image stabilization

Weakness: Noticeable noise

This camera shines in almost every way. Best all around price performance for a 12x optical zoom. Don't get fooled by looking at others who have digital zooms And at 12x, image stabilization is a must, which this camera has. And with 7.2 megapixel pics, you need a high capacity card. This camera supports 8GB SD High speed cards. The only negative - a bit noisy powering up and with zoom lens....

Excellent deal

Strengths: The Lens is as good as any out there. The battery life is good. The camera is very lightweight. Many features. Zoom. Zoom. Zoom.

Weakness: Zoom and autofocus are deactivated when using video mode. Only records about 30-35 min. in video mode at best quality. Flash slow sometimes. Yes, Noise at higher ISO settings or auto ISO in dim light.

I have owned this camera since May 2007 and have taken thousands of pictures with it in many lighting conditions. I must honestly say that overall, this camera is worth buying for anyone that would like a zoom digital camera. For the price, it just cannot be beat. If you are a pro or semi-pro photographer you probably should spend a little more money on a DSLR unless you want a fun little camera...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8K (Black) Digital Camera

Strengths: Leica 12x lens (F2.8-F3.1) is excellent superb optic stabilization system (it is necessary to super-zoom unless you take with tripod) fast focus RAW support (I think it is biggest improvement over

Weakness: It is a pity it does not have 28mm wide lens, but you can add wide angle lens. Noise is a problem at high ISO. It is not only for Peny but for all 1/2.5 CCD super-zoom. Keep ISO at 100, set Noise Red

I have tried SONY DSC-H1 and SONY DSC-H2. This camera is smaller than those. It has very clear screen, and it is lightweigh. Menu options are easy to use. Battery life is good. I love this camera, it is very easy to use, has a great lense and offers a lot of functions. Highly recommend it.I think FZ8 has best value for money at this rank of super-zoom camera.

Great Camera!!

Strengths: Zoom is awesome and doesn't make pictures appear dark like the Kodak I was looking at. Great picture quality (especially in sunlight or using flash) Very fast!

Weakness: So many options, overwhelming to someone not familiar with camera terms. Flash is not automatically opened... this is annoying.

This camera is perfect for taking pictures of wildlife. Great closeups without getting too close to the animals. The 7.2 megapixels allows for post photo zooming! And when taking photos of people, especially when using zoom, the pictures look amazing! I'm glad I spent a little extra to get this camera. I only wish the flash came open automatically.

Strengths: Super fast, Excellent Pictures Quality, Excellent in Low light, Image Stabilazer, Superb video quality, Excellent battery life, Beautifull 2.5 screen, Good manuall controll, Excellent lens, Powerfull

Weakness: Noticeble Noise at ISO 400 and up,

Out of several cameras that I own, this is an excellent camera, no questions about it !!! I own several cameras in the past like Kodak CX7430, Samsung v700, sony dsc70, casio zx750, Kodak z612, Canon SD500, I am left with only that ones that I like its pictures quality best, and that is Kodak CX7430, and Canon SD500, the other ones I give it present to friends and relatives. Those two camera that...

Great Camera

Strengths: Zoom, Shot to Shot time, Features

Weakness: Noise at ISO above 100, uses proprietary battery (replacement/extra battery is very expensive)

I purchased this camera because my previous camera (Olympus D560) broke -- the LCD display cracked. I liked my Olympus except for the fact that the shot to shot time was extremely long. When I was looking for a new camera, I was looking for one with fast performance. Canon's have a great reputation, but most of them have a long delay between shots when using the flash. This Panasonic had one of...

Strengths: Excellent Picture Quality, Super Fast, Performs well in Low light, Very Good Image Stabilization, Excellent battery life, Beautifull 2.5 screen, Fine Video Quality

Weakness: Noticeable Noise at ISO 200 and above

This is my second digital camera. I got very good reviews and saw it perform well. Many of them I know have this and it is performing really well for them. The package comes with a lot of additional accessories which is good.

Panasonic Lumix Digital Camera

Strengths: The camera takes sharp photos.

Weakness: The camera does not come with a carrying case.

The camera takes great photos. It has capabilities to zoom on the objects. The settings allow for jitter control with the ISO speed. The camera allows for close up photos with Macro settings. It is a great camera for the price.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8K (black)

THE GOOD: Fast 12x optical zoom lens; convenient joystick control; manual exposure controls; optical image stabilization; raw image capture. THE BAD: Noisy images; so-so image quality; ISO 3,200 hidden away in a scene mode. THE BOTTOM LINE: A fast, long 12x optical zoom lens and easy-to-use controls help make up a little for the DMC-FZ8s image-quality issues.

Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ8 Review

The new series of Lumix cameras includes the new Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8. This new model succeeds the popular Lumix FZ7 and is Panasonic's newest Mega zoom digital camera. From the outside, the Panasonic Lumix FZ8 is pretty similar to its predecessor. The real changes have taken place inside the camera. The most striking difference is the upgrade from 6 to 7 Megapixels and the option for...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8

The 7.2 megapixel Panasonic DMC-FZ8 may not have the longest zoom on the block, but its 12x image-stabilized optical zoom has more than enough range to meet most photographers' needs. And while the telephoto lens may be the driving force behind your interest in this digital camera, the FZ8 has a long list of features that are equally as enticing. Full manual controls and fine-tuning options will...

DCRP Review: Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8 is a full-featured ultra zoom camera that offers robust performance, tons of features, and a solid design, all for under $350. It's kept from greatness only by its overaggressive noise reduction, which noticeably reduces image quality, especially in low light, or if the ISO is higher than 100. For the typical digital camera buyer, who will be printing 4 x 6's and maybe...
