Targus Bluetooth Laser Mouse - Not Useable

Strengths: Great features and feel

Weakness: Loses connection, latency

Feel and design of mouse is great. After approx 10 seconds of inactivity (supposedly 5 mins according to manual) the mouse goes into "sleep mode". There is then approx 2 sec latency between moving the mouse and it becoming active again. This is annoying, but I can live with that. After my laptop goes into sleep mode and then turned on again, frequently the blue tooth connection between PC and...

Does not work, but looks great on paper

Strengths: Bluetooth, charges with USB cable (and can be used while charging), feels good, works on glass

Weakness: Drops connectivity with my Dell XPS-2's built-in blue tooth rendering it nearly useless

I bought this and it worked flawlessly for about 6 weeks then the laser died. I had bought it new off of EBay and Targus told me they would not honor my warrant. After filing a complaint with the BBB, they changed their tune. Second one seemed OK, but would lose connectivity with my bluetooth adapter every 8 or so hours (it varied). Called customer support, took about 5 weeks to replace...

Great device

Strengths: Great control, range, and portability

Weakness: None

I was anxiously waiting for this device to come out as it is a superb mouse to use with a laptop which has a built-in bluetooth device. I've never used a laser mouse before and I was blown away by its sensitivity and precision. I use the mouse at the 800 dpi setting because i found the 1600 to be too sensitive. But maybe some people prefer that. I used to have a slight problem with getting the...

How exactly is the mouse recharging its batteries...

Strengths: OK

Weakness: Gee, the ultimate wireless mouse - no power management whatsoever! Wrong!

The Targus ad for this mouse can be interpreted to say that recharging occurs via Bluetooth technology and not by a wire connection to the mouse from a power source. RF transmission of power is possible but since in this not the case with this mouse, it doesn't matter that the recharging of the mouse while in use is "brilliant". Still have to tie a leash to it from time to time.

It could be better!

Strengths: Can use while recharging. Has on/off switch to conserve battery power. 800/1600dpi

Weakness: Small for large hands, latency is terrible, goes into sleep mode after a couple of minutes of nonuse.

Battery life is not that great, I see why it has a charger. Have to charge about every (4) days. Constantly lags after just a few seconds of pause. Small for people with large hands.

Nifty to say the least

Strengths: charges by usb, still usable when charging, so no battery downtime, uses AAA rechargable batteries, so they're easily replaceable.

Weakness: small for my hands, mouse feet uneven so mouse rocks when clicking, always starts in 1600 dpi mode

quick and reliable bluetooth connection, very accurate and reliable. As a secondary mouse to make laptop use more comfortable, I highly recommend it. The mouse has the capability to use a highly accurate 1600 dpi mode, but it's irritating that every time I power it on I have to switch it out of that mode for normal desktop use.

You can't go wrong!

Strengths: Nice size, feels good, works well with my MacBook, wireless, rechargeable, hold charge a long time, attractive, Bluetooth

Weakness: It took 8 hours to charge before I could use it, and it does take a bit to come online after I fire up my Mac, but it's just that I'm impatient :).

This is a super gizmo! Very easy to set up. I just turned on the Bluetooth on my MacBook and after a couple of easy "discovering" steps, I was up and running quickly. I love the little carrying pouch for my briefcase, and the USB cord for charging is nice, too. It feels right in my hand, and works on virtually any surface. Great buy!

Dont do it...

Strengths: Feels comfortable in your hand and is a good size for smaller hands.

Weakness: Battery dies quickly (few days), deep sleep like others said, only connects with widcomm drivers or windows. Will connect with newest version of bluesoleil (v5), not old ones

Don't get it. Feels comfortable in your hand and is a good size for smaller hands. Battery dies quickly (few days), deep sleep like others said, only connects with widcomm drivers or windows. Will connect with newest version of bluesoleil (v5), not old ones

Motion function sometimes lost when mouse wakes up...

Strengths: Small size and feel, charges with USB cable

Weakness: Sleep problem (see review)

Targus generously replaced my older mouse with this one because when the AMB02US model went to sleep, you had to go through the discovery process to connect it again. They solved the problem with this new model; after it sleeps, you move it or click a button to wake it up and the delay to reconnect is acceptable. The manual says it should sleep after 5 minutes, but it seems to sleep much sooner...
